Wow what a weekend! Travelled towards Mysore at 7am. The heat was already immense. Our driver for the weekend was Raj and we all managed to fit in one vehicle thankfully air conditioned. The journey was one of awe. We gasped with excitement every time we saw a cow or a motorbike with 4 people riding it. (No helmets, and sometimes the whole family were squished on).
We arrived in Mysore, Raj dropped is of at the summer palace. The locals were all over us, asking for pics with us in. We felt like royalty. The temperature by lunch time was 37degrees, we headed then to Mysore Palace, by now we were used to taking our shoes off and burning or feet, hoping from one shady area to another.
We saw some elephants and felt sorry for them.

In the afternoon we headed to our weekend accommodation in Bandipur south of Mysore. This exceeded all our expectations, it was right in the middle of a wildlife reserve. There were deer, wild boar, cows and monkeys all over the place. Our rooms were like you see on safari. (the animals come first)
In the morning we got up at 5 to go on safari. We were lucky to see two tigers. A bison. Lots of deer. Beautiful birds of all descriptions.
When we got back to the pool (absolutely desperate to go for a swim) we found a cow drinking from it. The cow then decided to have a wander up to our rooms.
Our swim much later in the evening.
