HELP - a desparate plea!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have any compost that I could use tomorrow, pretty please - rather than spending a fortune on new bags, I would rather see if there are any half bags that need using up first!?

Also, if anyone has any part used BRIGHT gloss paint that they could donate for the tyre planters, that would be great too!

Thank you!

IMPORTANT FOR NEXT WEEK!

A few reminders:

Most children have bought in their costumes for Friday's assembly - please can the rest of you bring in yours tomorrow so that we can have a practice with them on! Keep practising your lines too!

DON'T FORGET:

You will need a CLEAN, CLEAR, LABEL FREE 2l plastic bottle for next week (ECO week).

You will also need your OLD play clothes and spare, old shoes/wellies for outside work.

Also, please could EVERYONE bring in some old magazines/or pages from magazines/unwanted wrapping paper and any spare plastic carrier bags! (If everyone were able to bring a small amount each or fill a carrier bag with those bits and bring them in then that would be great! (We need these for some great art activities planned next week!)

Thanks for your help with all these things - it will be a great, fun and exciting week!

We need your help!

Eco week – Week commencing 29th February

We need your help!

Monday 29th February – We are having a whole school eco activity day.  The children will have chosen three activities they wish to do; they will visit other classrooms and work with children across the school.  If you are able to come on in and lend a hand, then please let your class’s team know. The more helpers the more successful these activities can be!

Also, events and learning through eco week are going on throughout this week. Again, if you have a small amount of time spare, please do let us know, we would really appreciate any extra offers of help. Again, please talk to your child’s teacher/ team.

Finally, thank you to all of you who have been bringing in wanted items by staff for eco week, we very much appreciate all of the items, these will help in ensuring the children’s learning and activities can be as exciting and fun as planned!

a request

WANTED! If you have any colourful unwanted balls of wool, please can you send in for Eco Week?

Many thanks!

Mrs Mewett

Assembly prep and ECO week!

I hope you all had a great and restful half term!?

This week is our penultimate class assembly on Friday at 9:20. We do hope you can make it! I hope everyone has been practising their lines!? I did tell the children that they only need to wear black clothes (or as dark as possible - preferably no logos!) Boys that are soldiers, if they have swords then they can bring those in, girls that are witches can bring in witch hats/wigs too.

Next week is ECO week, so just a reminder that old warm play clothes, waterproofs and wellies, all named, will need to be on pegs throughout the week. Don't forget to bring in your clear plastic 2l bottle (labels off please!) I can't wait to see entries for the outdoor owls too!!!!!!

Two weeks on Thursday is the Year 4 DASP music concert - recheck letter for details or ask if you are not sure!

Practise those lines and songs hard - spellings and x tables to come home this weekend!

A few messages - Friday 5th feb 2016

In praise assembly today it was lovely to praise Rosa and Olivia for their Sonnets - very Shakespearean! Natalya, Eleanor and Megan were praised for their stunning art work and Callum, Natalya, Oakley and Dolly were praised for swimming their first 25m! Well done!

Spellings, x tables and mathletics set tasks for home learning - the majority of the class had accessed mathletics and completed their tasks - well done! Lets see EVERYONE trying theirs this week please!!!!!

It was great to meet Mrs. Seymour yesterday, she spent the morning with us and will be in again on Monday. She was very impressed with how friendly you all were and how well you worked!

Today we had a chat about Hooke Court where there were many questions and a few worries - the children wrote down, secretly, who they would like to share a bedroom with. They could choose 4, and I said that I would guarantee 1 or 2 of those and try and get the others in their day time group if possible.

I look forward to seeing those of you who are taking part in the Biathlon on Sunday at 10 am for registration!

Have a great week-end!

Wednesday 3rd feb 2016

As always, great swimming and some more super successes! Well done to Natalya and Callum who swam 25m today - super achievement!!!!! We also moved the groups around and one group that used to swim down the shallow end are now swimming lengths! Very impressive - I am proud of all of you - I bet you will sleep well tonight!? There were even children attempting tumble turns and dives! I heard that Sam and Fen did extremely well at a swimming competition on Saturday, sporting several ribbons and personal best times!

In literacy this week we have been composing sonnets inspired by Shakespeare's Sonnet 18! We have learned about stanzas, his specific rhyming structure, iambic pentameter and rhyming couplets!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!

We have been doing a strategy check in numeracy - testing our ability to move between different operations accurately, consolidating our preferred methods of calculating!

Those of you taking part in The Dorset Pentathlete Novice Biathlon this Sunday, I will give you the details tomorrow so that you get there in time for registration - I am very excited about this event - a sport I spend a lot of my time watching!!!!!!!!

Please could everyone have a look at home for a mysterious missing pair of maroon coloured girls trainers about a size 1 - they were not in any PE bags yesterday so please could you have a quick look at home, thank you!

We are having an ECO week 2 weeks after half term with lots of exciting things planned - please could each child bring in a clean, clear large plastic bottle (coke, lemonade type) with the lid on, thank you!

Sleep well!

Year 1 need your help please!

Year 1 will be doing an exciting topic next term and need your help! We would like your recycled kitchen rolls (not toilet rolls), pringle tubes and any other cylinder shapes. As well as this we would like to recycle any cereal bar boxes (as shown in the picture below).

Please bring any of these to the Year 1 classroom or give them to your teachers to pass on.
