Sports Day

We are trying to rearrange our Sports Afternoon for Wednesday 18th July at 1:30pm weather permitting! Please come along to cheer the children on.

Leaver's Assembly

Leaver's Assembly is on Friday 20th July at 10.10am in the hall. Please come along to celebrate your child's time at The Prince of Wales School and bring your tissues. (I've told the children that they have got to make you cry!)

Staff v's Pupils

To celebrate the end of our Fighting Fit Fortnight we will be holding a staff v's children football match. Some of the regular footballers from year 4 have been chosen to play and will need to bring shin pads and football boots in on Friday 13th July. We will also be having a staff v's children netball match, why not come and cheer the staff on?

Book Amnesty

Please could you collect together all of your reading and library books to bring back to school this Friday? Please do not place library books back into the library because they need to be scanned back in first.

Olympic Torchbearer Visits

We had a special visit from Olympic Torchbearer - Wendy Pittendrigh on Tuesday 10th July. Wendy ran with the torch on the first day of the torch procession in Penzance, Cornwall. Some classes have been collecting donations for the photos taken with Wendy and the Olympic Torch. Apologies for telling some of you that the charity Wendy raises money for is Breast Cancer Care when it is actually Cancer Research UK/Race for Life. The link for Wendy's JustGiving page where donations can be made is https://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/wendypittendrigh You can read all about why Wendy was nominated to carry the torch by clicking this link: http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/torchbearers=wendy-pittendrigh-7622/.
