Bringing the digestive system to life!!!!!!!!!

Learning all about the digestive system..........from start to finish!!!!!!!!! Tell your families all about it - can you use the science words? We even made a stomach, intestines a rectum and faeces!!!!!!!!!!! We are now in the process of writing a story all about the digestive system with our chosen food as the main character......there have been some interesting titles!!!!!!!!! "Journey to the Centre of the Sewer" "From Tescos to Toilet"......the list goes on! Who would have thought you could be so creative? Watch this space, I will make sure we blog a few!

Year 4 Friday 27th April 2018

Firstly, can I say a HUUUUUUUGE thank you to Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Brooker, Mr. Gibson and Mrs. Troughton for volunteering to accompany us to Hooke - without them we would not have been able to go and they were brilliant!!!!!!!

What a superb residential! The children were fantastic in so many ways developing many skills over the three days which will, without a shadow of doubt, further equip them for their journey over the next few months!
They were a real pleasure to take away and contributed to many wonderful memories all round!!!!!
We will endeavour to organise photos for you all.

Home learning this week is to enter the competition they brought home relating to our visitor assembly last week. Mr. Macbean would like a record number of entries so please get creating!

We have been focussing in class on key word spellings - the frequently used words that follow no spelling patterns. We will continue to work on those this week in class.

Don't forget that NEXT Friday (4th May) is our class assembly at 9:20 - they will need to wear normal home clothes for the assembly unless told otherwise - they can bring in their super hero costume to put on afterwards!

Have a restful weekend and please could you have a look through bags from the trip and bring in any items that have accidentally made their way into the wrong luggage - thank you!

Mrs. J and Mrs. Scott.

Year 4 Friday 20th April 2018

As with the summer term, already a week has whizzed past us!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to all of you who were able to make it to the Year 4 information session this morning. Please look out for dates on the blog or via letters for upcoming events. I did mention that we will have a Celt day and a Roman day where the children can dress up - please DO NOT feel that you are obliged to buy an outfit - tracksuits/shorts/leggings/t-shirts and a blanket or sheet are ideal to fashion a costume from! Celt day will be before half term and Roman day will be towards the end of summer 2.

We have an EXTRA year 4 class assembly - please see the calendar.

3 things to remind you for our forthcoming trip:

1. ALL children will need a packed lunch provided by yourselves on the first day - hot dinners have been cancelled - ask at the office for further information.
2. Sweets: I said they could bring a SMALL quantity - they will be given times to eat/share them and will be expected to give them to us at bedtimes. I said it was between themselves and their families to discuss and we would respect your decision.
3. Pocket money : between £2.50 - £5 - items to buy range from 50p - £2

Thank you for your support - please come and see me if you have any questions.

Mrs. J and Mrs. Scott

Year 4 Monday 16th April 2018

Welcome back everyone! What a lovely - if wet - holiday! We hope you all had a restful break and enjoyed the Common Wealth Games as much as I did!!!!!!!

Well, here we are in the final term...........where does time go???????
I think everyone has come back a lot taller and definitely with a mature attitude to their final term! We have been VERY impressed by the home learning projects that have come in so far - they are all so individual and show excellent independence and creativity - well done! we can't wait to see the rest this week!

Year 4, what can you tell your family about The Stone Age from our learning today?
We spent some time this afternoon discussing our forthcoming residential, clarifying any questions and reassuring any worries - remember no worry is too small and if you have it, probably someone else does too!!!!!! We are all very excited - keep doing a sun dance for next week! PLEASE come and ask Mrs. Scott or myself if you have ANY questions. There will be information on the black board on the morning of the trip, telling you where to put your belongings etc!!!!!

This Friday morning, 20th April, 9am in the hall = Yr 4 Parent Information Session.

The newsletter will be coming out with dates for the sleep overs and the leavers assembly etc

So let's get ready for a fun packed, thrilling summer term...............

On your marks, get set.....................go!
