Last bit of information from me..

Hello all,

I hope you are all ready for tomorrow and have your tissues packed - it is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions for sure!

Firstly, please arrive at around 10am and go onto the field where a member of staff will show you to where you will be sitting. The assembly will be starting at 10:30. There will also be an interval during this. You have all been invited to have a picnic on the field with your children. Just a reminder that no other children can join your bubble on the field and also your children cannot go into another bubble. This also applies to the adults. The children will have spaces on the field in which they can play with their friends in their kingdom.

Secondly, we have had a few queries about bringing in a school t-shirt to be signed. Unfortunately this won't be able to happen this year due to current restrictions. However, every pupil has got something that has been signed by other members of the school to keep. Sorry!

See you all tomorrow in your Oscar Award Ceremony attire!

Ooooops, I've made a mistake!

Hello all,

I've noticed on my last blog I said sports day was Wednesday. I've made a mistake and sports day is actually Thursday!! Sorry for the confusion. Tomorrow we are having a water fight which we are all very excited for and we are also having our rescheduled Roundhouse time as this was not possible today.

Also, I am sharing something from Mr Spracklen;

Dear Year 4 Parents/Carers,

In addition to the letter sent last Tuesday (attached again for reference). We wanted to share the following additional information -

- The Year 4 Leavers Assembly will include a 15 minute interval after about 45-50 minutes. Sadly, we cannot provide refreshments at this time and therefore encourage you to bring your own.

- An 'emergency toilet' will be available for use if anyone gets caught short. This will be located behind the marquee on the school field. Cleaning materials will be provided and anyone using the toilet will be asked to wipe clean the environment after use. If you need to go, please go. If not, please avoid!

- The marquee on the school field will be available in case the weather is very very hot (not expected) and a shaded area is required.

I am looking forward to seeing you all in your best frocks!

Please keep an eye out on the Y4 Blog for more updates -

As shared yesterday (on the blog), at 2:20pm on Friday the children will all be taking part in a final walk around the school where the rest of the school will be clapping them from their Kingdoms.

With this in mind, we would recommend you pick your child(ren) up at 2:30pm on Friday from the school gates.

If for any reason you are later we will keep the children in their Kingdoms until you collect them.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Mr Spracklen

Sorry once again for the confusion on sports day!

Final week of POW!

Wow, I can't quite believe that we are in our final week of Year Four and the last week of being at POW!!

This week is going to be an emotional one for all but will also be full of happiness and laughter. Today we all enjoyed some time in the meadow and garden area. Tomorrow we are having a picnic in the meadow and also having a fire at the roundhouse area as we could not do this last week. Wednesday we are having another water fight and also taking part in sports day! Thursday we will be practising for our assembly and taking part in a quiz. Then before we know it...Friday will be here.

As you all know Friday is our leavers assembly. This starts at 10:30 sharp, however, you can come onto the field from 10am. There will be specific places set out on the field for you to sit in your bubble. After the assembly you are all invited to have a picnic lunch with your children. This will be 12-1pm. The children will then take part in a talent show during the afternoon. At 2:20pm the children will all be taking part in a final walk around the school where the rest of the school will be clapping them from their kingdoms. Please may you pick up your children at 2:30pm from the school gates. If for any reason you are late we will keep the children in their kingdoms until you collect them.

Please can you ensure that children are dressed in smart clothes for their leavers assembly - an outfit that you would wear to the oscars. We do have some clothing at school if you do need to borrow any.

This is yet another fun filled week at The Prince of Wales and we promise to make it a memorable last week for all children.

Thank you for your continued support!!

P.S - bring tissues with you on Friday, it's going to be a tear jerker!

Last few weeks and PSHE.

Hello all,

I can't believe that we have 8 school days left at school. This time is really flying by, however, we have so much more fun to fit in!!

Today we had a lovely socially distanced get together with their buddies on the field that was full of dancing, reading, laughter and ice lollies. This afternoon was enjoyed by all. Tomorrow we have an afternoon of bingo with Mrs Scott and her sidekick Miss White.

Today myself and Miss Johnson delivered a PSHE lesson surrounding a topic that every Year 4 learns about during their final term. Due to COVID-19 we could not run these sessions as we usually would. However, the children learnt about the reproductive systems, how a baby is created and also puberty and how our bodies change. All children showed such a high level of maturity and some great questions were asked. I was very proud of their attitude towards this topic and how open they were in discussions. All questions that the children had were answered in the lesson and we have said any further questions can be asked at any time. If you have any questions about what was spoken about today in these sessions please don't hesitate to catch myself (Miss White) or Miss Johnson in the morning or send us an email. You should feel very proud of the mature attitudes that were shown today, as we are!

Coming home with the children will be letters about the leavers assembly and sign up sheets for spaces on the field. Please return these ASAP. This is going to be an assembly that will never be forgotten.

As always, if you have any questions please contact us.
