Hello Everyone,
Each child will be sent home with a laminated Home Learning checklist this week. Getting into good home learning habits now will help your child transition to the increased home learning they should expect at middle school.
Every individual has different organisational approaches that work for them but generally speaking it is helpful if your child can find a quiet, distraction free place where they can complete their learning. For many, having a regular time to complete learning helps to create a routine and ensures that home learning isn't forgotten and left to the last minute.
Home Learning at the Prince of Wales School isn't compulsory but it is highly likely that at your child's middle school it will be and so helping them take responsibility and completing tasks to deadlines now will help them in the future.
The format of the home learning sheets has been developed across the school to help children continue to build their learning powers as home. This week the learning powers we will focus on will be resilience and being reflective, namely reflecting on their understanding of the digestive system and making a model at home to represent it. You do not need to bring the model in and can take a photograph and email it to me.
The children will be given a hard copy of this week's home learning but an electronic copy with hyperlinks to relevant worksheets can be found here.
As ever if you have any questions of comments please email me.
Kind regards,
Ms Browne
