Hello everyone,
It is so lovely having the whole class back together. Being with your wonderful children makes me very happy and I have been so impressed with what they have achieved in the two weeks since we have become a complete bubble again.
We seem to have done so much already but the best is yet to come - we have lots of fun and engaging activities in the pipeline for next term. If you haven't yet read the Hooke Court Letter please click here. We are also still planning to visit Nothe Fort in June, so the children won't miss out on this child evacuation experience that we were originally going to do in February (at least it will be warmer!).
Home Learning will start up again this week. I wanted to give you and the children a break from this after the last lockdown. However, moving forwards it would be good if you could start setting up some home learning routines and encouraging your child to be as independent as possible in preparation for middle school. Home learning is always optional at the Prince of Wales School but this point onwards it is strongly encouraged in year 4, putting us in line with year 5 expectations.
Last week we had a zoom call with children from Fairview Elementary School in Virginia, USA. The children are the same age as our year 4 children and it was fascinating talking to them and finding out about their lives. We hope to chat to them again this week before starting a project to share more information about Dorchester as part of our Home Learning project.
Lots of love and virtual hugs.
Ms Browne & the year 4 team. x
