Year 4 - Celtic Workshops - 10th June 2019

Image result for celtic knot patternsYear 3 and 4 have been taking part in some Iron Age workshops today and will be taking part again next Monday afternoon.  Activities will involve working outside at our Forest Schools / Roundhouse area.  We got a little caught out today with the rain, so apologies if your child returned home a little soggy!  We are determined that next week will be a different matter.  (No doubt the sun will shine!)

Please could all children in years 3 and 4 bring with them some outdoor play clothes and shoes / boots to wear outside for Monday 17th June.

Despite the rain we managed to enjoy Iron age tasks such as purse making, pattern making, and preparing for the tribe chiefs return by learning how to weave, make jewellery and use charcoal to make designs for roundhouses.  Making natural dye with which to dye the wool for the chief's new robe proved very popular and various shades of green and brown were made.

We are looking forward to next Monday and fingers crossed we might enjoy some better weather!
