YEAR 3 and 4 HOME LEARNING - Friday 10th May 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
We have made an exciting start with our learning about the Romans.
This week for the children’s home learning, we would like them to find out more about the types of food that the Romans ate.
Two good websites that they could use are:
We would like them to use the template to put together a menu for a Roman banquet. There should be several different choices for each section.
We would also like to let you know that on Friday 24th May, Year 3 and 4 will be having a shared ‘Roman day’.
We will be joining together to take part in lots of Roman-related activities, including a ‘Roman’ lunch. We would like to invite you to sign up to bring an item of food for the lunch that day (similar to the Christmas Party system). A list will appear in the classroom at the beginning of next week. If your child has a hot lunch, they will still be able to have this, and then join in with the Roman lunch afterwards. Alternatively, you may wish to cancel your child’s hot lunch for that day.
In order to get into the real spirit of living life as a Roman, we would also like to invite the children to dress up in Roman costume. Examples of what the children could wear are available on the websites recommended above. We look forward to an action-packed day!
Please do ask one of the Year 3 or 4 teams if you have any questions or queries.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Bishop, Mrs Thorpe, Miss Browne, Mr Dickinson
Also, remember to keep practising your times tables!
Times Tables Rockstars, Mathletics, AR Reading Quizzes and Purple Mash can all be accessed at home to support your learning in school.
