Hello everyone,
I hope you had a lovely weekend and didn't have too much Hooke Court washing to do. It really was a fantastic few days and this together with Shakespeare has been one of my highlights with your lovely children.
Just a quick update regarding middle school transitioning plans now that the original plans for transition day had to be cancelled due to covid restrictions:
Dorchester Middle School
Miss Easton (learning support mentor) has been in twice now to informally meet with the children. Today Miss Easton, Mrs Pluck the Headteacher and Mrs Ray the assistant head of Key stage 2 came in to deliver an assembly to the year 4 going to DMS, together with some of last years POW year 4. It was lovely to see our previous students who shared first hand experiences of their time at DMS.
Next Thursday 1st July the children going to DMS will still visit DMS. They will walk to DMS with POW staff and will meet their tutors and find out which POW children are in their class but they will need to stay outside of the school building.
Mrs Ray and Mrs Pluck also hope to run an outside visit for children and parents but details will follow and a year 5 tutor is planning to visit the children again in July. Mrs Ray also suggested that parents should look at the DMS blog regularly for updates.
St Osmunds School
Mrs Pegram came into school to meet the year 4 children going to St Osmunds last term. She also sends weekly emails to the email address that applied for your school place. If you have not received these emails you may want to check your junk mail and then contact her to add your email if needed.
Year 4 children have been invited to visit St Osmunds with their parents to meet their tutor on either the 5th or 6th July. If you have not received this email you may want to get in touch to arrange a time slot ASAP.
Please could you let me or Mr Edmunds know what time your child will be visiting the St Osmunds school once your time slot has been confirmed. Thank you.
If you have any questions that I can answer from a POW perspective please, as ever get in touch.
Kind regards,
Ms Browne
