Home learning - Year 4 - Autumn Week 1
6th September 2019
William Who?
Next week we will be getting stuck into our Shakespeare! For home learning this week I would like you to produce a poster, model, painting, portrait or a written fact file about William Shakespeare. Let your imagination run away with you! Maybe you’ve discovered an ancient manuscript written by the man himself (coffee staining essential). Or you might learn one of Shakespeare’s sonnets (I will be looking for budding actors and actresses in the coming weeks). If you are more artistic you could have a go at a wonderful portrait. Please return your Shakespearean findings by Friday 13th September.
Marvellous Maths
I have attached a times table grid for you to keep at home. Only fill in the numbers you are sure of. As you learn facts add them in. See if you can complete the table with confidence by Christmas. If you already know all of them, see how long it takes you to fill in the grid and try improving your recall time. If you are not sure of some times tables that is perfectly fine, just do the ones you know!
We will be commencing with weekly times table checks from next week, starting with the 2s, 4s and 8s. You may try for 1, 2 or all 3 of these times tables to earn a gold, silver or bronze award. So get practising!
Swimming
Swimming lessons will be on a Wednesday afternoon, however we won’t be beginning lessons until Wednesday 25th September. So for the next couple of weeks we will be having drama and PE instead. More information will follow soon.
Please remember:
READING, Times Tables Rockstars, Mathletics, AR Reading Quizzes and Purple Mash which can all be accessed at home to support your learning in school. All logins remain the same as last year, we will send reminders of these home next week just in case you have forgotten.
