Thank you to all the volunteers who helped us on Friday during our trip to Bovington - I am sure the children didn't stop talking about it all week-end, it was such an enjoyable and informative trip peppered with many poignant moments too, putting all our learning into context relating to all wars fought.
This week we will be finishing our WW2 topic by celebrating during the tea dance on Thursday afternoon - we are very much looking forward to seeing all your baking creations and hope you can join us for a cuppa, a dance and a piece of cake!!!!! (2:30pm onwards in the school hall) WEAR WW2 EVACUEE COSTUME THIS DAY!!!!
In literacy this week we have been embarking on some cross curricular writing linked to RE. We have been learning about the nativity story in detail and are writing it in our own words...............using our linking spider learning skills to include all the literary devices we have been learning about. I can't wait to read them! During numeracy this week we are learning about coordinates: reading them, plotting them, constructing accurate axis and 4 quadrants.
Christmas has also arrived!!!!!!!! The parts for our performance have all been handed out and we cannot wait to start rehearsing. I would like to extend a HUGE thank you, in advance, for your help and support in organising your costume, we are very grateful because, as you can imagine, there are a lot of props to organise as well as directing and supporting the children - and carrying out all the fun, exciting christmas activities in school alongside all this! Thank You!!!!!!
Finally, in running club the children have been asking for a challenge, so this Thursday Mr. Gibson and I are going to run, with the members of the club, to Maiden Castle car park and back. We plan to leave school at 8:00 am sharp in order to be back at school for 8:45 am. Please speak to me about this if you have any questions, if you do not want your child to take part in this run, then please come to school at the normal time in your WW2 outfit.
Thank you for all your continued support, and thank you too for your prompt return of the home school agreement, that was much appreciated!
Mrs. J and the Year 4 Team
