The cogs are whirring at great speed!

Good evening,

The children have been busy learning about a multitude of things the last couple of weeks including; pie charts and carroll diagrams (reading and interpreting them making links to other learning with fractions too), complex sentences (ask them about Sammy crab and Alan crab), producing persuasive leaflets about Fairthorne using publisher, diary writing, exciting science focusing on materials and observational skills, athletics (javelin, discus and sprinting), in RE learning about Samsara, Karma and Moksha in Hinduism (life and death) and, finally, being introduced to the Celts..........phew - busy!!!!

The children may also have told you about our visitor last week, Holly a puppeteer. We made some amazing Macbeth themed puppets and Holly will be coming back to finish them with us next week. The reason we are making the puppets is that we have been invited to take part in the Dorchester Arts Week parade. There will be a slip coming out this week to see who will be able to join in the parade - we need as many of Year 4 as possible who can make it. The parade will take place on Saturday 24th May starting at the Corn Exchange at 11:30 and parading up the street to the Borough Gardens. I will be walking with the children and Mrs. Scott has said she will come as well. It would be lovely to have as many of you there as possible as not many other schools have been asked to join in so it is an exciting opportunity as well as a privilege to have been asked.

Keep up the electrifying learning Year 4 - your brains are soaking it all in and developing all the time!

Mrs. Johnson
