Key Stage 2 Sports Day, this week's PSHE lesson

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. It's great to see children bringing in sun-hats and coming to school wearing sunscreen.

Sports Day
We had our final Sport's day practice with Mr Treble on Tuesday and the children did a great job, despite the warmth of the day.

The Key stage 2 sports day will be on Tuesday 9th July. The time is earlier than previously advertised and will run from 9.15 am - 11am. Year 4 will be doing the athletics track events at 9am and then will do inclusive playground activities  from around 10.15am.

Please could ALL children bring their PE kits to school on this day (and ideally before) we still have a number of children that do not have PE kits to get changed into or suitable shoes for running.

PSHE
In this week's PSHE, we discussed the fact that babies are made from a sperm and an egg. We also talked about mensuration, erections and wet dreams. The children were very sensible and had lots of great questions. One of the questions children had was how the sperm and egg come together. This isn't something that is covered in year 4. I have therefore advised the children to ask parents and carers if they have questions beyond what we covered in the lesson.

If you would like any support or advice on this area or have any other questions please feel free to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Ms Browne and the year 4 team.
