Wow what a busy week this has been! Year 4 were positively amazing in Peter Pan. I wouldn't be surprised if they are quite tired this weekend. They have lots to think about at the moment. They completed their Multiplication checks this week, we have been learning about periods and their changing bodies and the children are thinking about Hooke Court and moving on to middle school.
Transition timetable:
All the children going to St Osmunds met Mrs Sue Brazier to talk through what to expect at middle school. Mrs Brazier works out of Thomas Hardye school but also does enhanced transitions. They will meet her again next Thursday.
A small group going to DMS also met with Mrs Brazier. However, all of the children going to DMS will also have a special assembly on Tuesday 5th July. This will be a chance for the children to meet Mrs Pluck the headteacher, Mrs Ray the year 5 lead and assistant headteacher and the KS2 learning mentor Miss Easton. The children will also see some familiar faces as some of last year's year 4 children will come to the assembly to share their experiences.
All children going on to middle school (DMS, St Osmunds, St Mary's) will have a transfer day on Thursday 7th July.
Home Learning:
For this week's home learning I would like the children to work with money. I know many of us don't carry much in the way of coins or notes but if you have any spare or any toy money at home, it would be great to let your child become familiar with it.
All children were sent home with worksheets (not stuck into their home learning books). Should they have not made it home please click on the links below. The sheets just represent some ideas to do with your child. Any activities with money, that don't necessarily need to feel like formal home learning, would be wonderful.
Please note that due to a busy week of Peter Pan there are no new spellings to learn but Ed shed is always a great platform to practice spellings.
Upcoming Dates:
Monday 27th June
- Class photo. Please could all children bring their blue school jumper or cardigan for the photo please.
- POWSA Bikeathon. Please send your child in with a scooter or a bike and a helmet.
Friday 1st July
- Dance Day. 14:30 on the school field.
Tuesday 5th July
- DMS transfer assembly
- KS2 sports day 13:30 - 15:10 (including yr4's Samba drums)
Thursday 7th July
- DASP transfer day.
Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th July
- Hooke Court Residential
Thursday 21st July
- Year 4 leavers assembly 10:30am
