Wow! What an amazing four days we've just had. I can't believe that it hasn't even been a full week. It's a shame that the week has been suddenly cut short but given the busy few days we've had I'm sure the children will appreciate the extra day of rest and can come back for Spring term 2 ready and relaxed.
In preparation, here are a few dates and notices for next term:
Monday 28th Feb - INSET Day
Tuesday 1st March - All children return to school
Thursday 3rd March - World Book Day. Children to dress up as their favourite book character and bring a present wrapped lunch.
Friday 4th March - Planetarium visit. Packed lunch needed.
Thursday 24th March - Year 4 class assembly.
On Wednesday afternoons, those children not swimming will be doing a collaborative learning project on food and farming with Reception. There will be a rotation of activities but for two of the afternoons, children will need a change of forest school clothes that they can get dirty.
Home learning
I didn't have the chance to explain the children's home learning to them but I was hoping that they could either do some research about fairtrade or find as many items as possible at home or in shops with the fair trade logo. They have also been given their times tables booklets to complete and it would also be great for them to read regularly.
The class exceeded all my expectations on Wednesday night at the Pavilion and I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of them, as I'm sure you are too. I can't wait to see the recording of the performance.
The Shakespeare play was the highlight of the week for me but below are a few photos from the rest of the week.
We hope you have a lovely half term.
Kind regards,
Ms Browne & The year 4 team. xxx
