Hello everyone,
The children are continuing to settle into year 4 well and are clearly enjoying our Second World War topic.
This week, the children explored the reasons behind why the war started. We have been reading Michael Morpurgo's book Friend or Foe in class and today the children enjoyed the WW2 experience using the Now Press Play headsets. Next week in English, the children will be writing diary entries from the perspective of an evacuee.
Thank you for helping your child complete their home learning last week. We had 25 out of 30 home learning sheets returned, which is excellent. Well done year 4!
This week, the home learning is maths based. The children were given a paper copy on Monday but should your child have not brought theirs home an electronic copy can be found here, or please ask staff for another copy.
Spellings
All the children should have brought their spellings home to learn. I thought it would be a good idea to change the name of the children's spellings groups and also thought it would be a good idea (at the time) to name them after famous spellers.
The group previously known as Flitwick is now called Avant-garde; McGonagall is now Logan and the group that was Sprout is now Trinkle.
