Year 4 Sunday 24th September 2017
Lots of "thank yous"!!!!!!!! Thank you to Hazel for hosting our farm trip, we really did get a true sense of what it would have been like to be an evacuee!!!!!!! Thank you to the parents who kindly accompanied us too! We couldn't do these trips without you!
Another thank-you to those of you who were able to come along to the year 4 information session on Thursday, I hope you found it informative? If you were unable to come, the powerpoint is on our school website - do take a look!
Thank you to all the children who have applied for the job of playtime warden, interviews will be held this Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime! Get practising your interview questions and answers - think about why you applied for the job and what qualities you could bring to the job. What caterpillar best describes you and why?
You have all been really trying hard with your spellings with great results - well done! Keep up the hard work! I look forward to also seeing how many of you complete your athletics tasks and earn certificate - let's be the class with the most!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget Harvest this week - we will be doing lots of exciting learning - Next Monday afternoon we are going to Tescos to learn about sustainable fishing and also to go behind the scenes - we will need 3 people to accompany us, so do come and let us know if you can come!
Reminder:
Year 4 class assembly is a fortnight on Friday - you will need your evacuee costume for this!
Don't forget to come along and help out next Saturday on our community clean up the school grounds day!
Well done to all of you who remembered a swimming hat this week - brilliant!!!!!

Year 4 Tuesday 12th September 2017 - SWIMMING!
Important information re swimming!
Year 4 swimming is on a WEDNESDAY, starting TOMORROW ( 13th September ).
If you would like your child to walk up to swimming with Mrs. Scott and myself, please meet in the ICT suite for 8:40am and wait with your child until either of us are there, thank you. Alternatively, you can meet us for 8:55am at 1610 leisure centre, again, please wait with your child until we arrive, thank you.
Kit: they will need a one piece swimming costume or swimming trunks/shorts (tight ones are best as they do not drag), a hat (definite) and goggles (not essential but they do really help them to swim better). Thank you for your support with this.
PE: this is Tuesday and Friday - they can have a tracksuit in their bags along with their PE kits, with a pair of trainers, especially as it gets colder, we will still be doing games outside!
This will all be repeated in the information letter coming home!
Finally, in preparation for our topic and the trips/assembly, the children will need a WW2 costume, charity shops are great for these, alternatively shorts, shirt, jumper and flat cap for the boys or a dress/skirt and cardigan with plaits or a hat for the girls. Have a rummage at home, you'll be surprised what you can find!!!!! They will also need to make a gas mask box - cat food boxes or washing tablet boxes are great for this. COSTUMES WILL BE NEEDED FOR OUR CLASS ASSEMBLY - SEE DATE ON LETTER THIS WEEK!
Thank you Mrs. J and Mrs. Scott
