Year 4 - you should be very proud of yourselves - ONCE AGAIN! I know I was super proud of you and your amazing assembly. Not only did you show your creative thinking skills putting together short, amusing sketches illustrating your learning, I think you all demonstrated how confident you have all become! Brilliant!!!! You brought a tear to my eye - also by making me laugh so much!!!!!!
Amazing home learning is flooding in! I love the way you have all interpreted the project in your chosen and preferred way - also inspiring to the other children in the school as they marvel at them in the corridor - well done one and all (family members that have joined in the fun and learning too!)
Reminder to brass players to bring in your instruments tomorrow - Mr. Minhinnick was very impressed with you all.
Tomorrow a note will be coming home about a Science/DT/Numeracy project we are returning to (after the madness of Christmas and everything leading up to it), in groups the children had been researching about different dietary needs - each group will then be planning a pizza that is suitable for their given group, they will then have to cost it out using the Tescoes website. We then intend to go shopping next Tuesday for the ingredients and, later, returning to school to make them. The note will be requesting £2 to brought into the office in a named envelope so that each group will have a budget to keep to. On arrival at Tescoes we will be splitting off into our groups to do our shopping, so we do need 2-3 volunteers to accompany us and be with a group around the store! We should be back in plenty of time for lunch - If anyone would like to stay on and help with the cooking int he afternoon, then please feel welcome! Let me know if you think you would like to come along and help!
PE: In the newsletter I requested that children bring in tracksuit bottoms or leggings and trainers to keep in their PE bags, as we like to go outside for PE if it isn't raining, and it is very nippy at the moment!!!!
Learning: The children are int he middle of a piece of extended writing, creating the story to accompany an amazing picture book "Flotsam". Keep your eyes peeled on the corridor display - they will be added shortly (they really are fantastic!) We have also been exploring fractions - recognising and calculating equivalent fractions, finding fractions of a number, mixed and improper fractions and later on this week, ordering fractions - I will be sending home an information sheet on these with some to have a go at at home this Friday!
Keep up the hard work Year 4 - you're doing brilliantly! :-)
